Big Top Circus Parade

This July 18th, the Baraboo Community will be alive with events and activities as we celebrate the 7th Annual Big Top Parade and Circus Celebration in downtown Baraboo.

The Big Top Parade & Circus Celebration will feature concerts, children’s activities, carnival games, food vendors and live performances. The main event – the Big Top Parade – on Saturday, July 18, kicks off at 11:00 a.m. Along with our grand marshals, the parade features over 80 traditional circus parade units and circus-themed entries created by community groups and businesses.

2019 Big Top Parade Grand Marshal

Gene Allan Scott

Gene Allen Scott began his career as an on-air radio personality and Disc Jockey in 1968, so he is a natural choice for Grand Marshall of a 1960s-themed Baraboo Big Top Parade. “The Baraboo Big Top Parade committee loves to shine the spotlight on people who have contributed to our community, and Mr. Scott has been bringing music and entertainment to the people of south-central Wisconsin for more than 50 years.”

His radio career began in 1968 at a radio station in Wisconsin Dells, and he was a Madison area radio engineer and on-air talent for decades. 99.7 MAX FM.

Station owner Kory Hartman stated that Gene Allen Scott’s ties to the station date back to the 1970s. “We’re proud that Gene continues today with his very successful weekly oldies show, playing music of the 60s and 70s every Saturday morning from 7:00-10:00 am.”
